West Hartford Junior Woman's Club

West Hartford Juniors volunteer their services in the community in many ways. Below are a few of our many contributions to our community:

* Provide and serve meals to residents of South Park Inn, a homeless shelter in Hartford, two to three times a year.

* Participate in various West Hartford Town That Cares Events

* Provide food for Thanksgiving Dinner at The Bridge Family Center

* Provide Back to School Backpacks & Christmas Stockings for Covenant for Care

* Participate in the Race for the Cure to raise money for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation

* Assist West Hartford Symphony Orchestra with advertising efforts & volunteering our time at different events

* Assist Noah Webster House in their annual House Tour

* Collect donations for the West Hartford Food Pantry

We are always willing to take on new projects that members may be interested in.  

In addition to giving our time to those in need, the West Hartford Junior Woman's Club holds several fundraising events each year to raise money for local charities or for charities of special importance to a particular member.

Some of the benefits we have organized over the past few years have included:

* Art auctions

* Fashion shows

* Holiday wreath sales

* Holiday ornament sales

* Beer/wine tastings

* Dinner/Dances

* Tag Sales

* Bake Sales

* Movie Nights

Annual fundraising events are determined by the members & are completely organized and put forth by our members.

Monies raised have supported organizations such as The Town That Cares, The Bridge Family Center, The Grounds, Children's Miracle Network, Interval House, Hall & Conard Safe Graduation Parties, Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center, St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital & many more.

West Hartford Juniors believe in having a good time while doing good in the community!  Each year, our committees plan social activities for us to share. We have enjoyed "Girls Night Out," potluck dinners, arts & crafts workshops, family activities, holiday celebrations & a year-end banquet.

In addition, our Home Life Commiteee ensures that members support each other in times of need and the Program Committee provides speakers and demonstrations on an array of topics at our monthly general meetings.
